صوم الرسل هو صوم خاص بالخدمة والكنيسة ونتعلم لزوم الصوم للخدمة، ونفعه لها، ونري عمل الروح القدسفيه.

يبدأ هذا الصومبعد مرور أسبوع على عيد العنصرة.ويعد هذا الصوم من أصوام الدرجة الثانية للكنيسة القبطية الأرثوذكسية.

نصوم لكي يتدخل الله في الخدمة ويعينها.  ونصوم لكي نخدم ونحن في حالة روحية.  ونصوم شاعرين بضعفنا..

هو أقدم صوم عرفته الكنيسة المسيحية في كل أجيالها وأشار إليه السيد بقوله “ولكن حينما يرفع عنهم العريس فحينئذ يصومون”..

وصام الآباء الرسل، كبداية لخدمتهم.  فالرب نفسه بدأ خدمته بالصوم، أربعين يومًا على الجبل.

قيل عن معلمنا بطرس الرسول إنه صام إلى أن ” جاع كثيرًا واشتهى أن يأكل” (أع 10: 10).  وفي جوعه رأى السماء مفتوحة، ورأى رؤيا عن قبول الأمم.

وكما كان صومهم مصحوبًا بالرؤى والتوجيه الإلهي، كان مصحوبًا أيضًا بعمل الروح القدس وحلوله.  ويقول الكتاب: “وبينما هم يخدمون الرب ويصومون، قال الروح القدس أفرزوا لي برنابا وشاول للعمل الذي دعوتها إليه.  فصاموا حينئذ وصلوا، ووضعوا عليهما الأيادي، ثم أطلقوهم.  فهذان إذ أرسلا من الروح القدس، انحدرا إلى سلوكية” (أع 13: 2-4).

The fast of the Apostles is a fast for service and church, and we learn to fast for service, and benefit it, and see the work of the Holy Spirit in it. This fasting begins a week after Pentecost. This fasting is considered to be a fasting of the second degree of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

We fast so that God interferes in and helps the service. And we fast so that we may serve in a spiritual state. And we fast, feeling our weakness.

It is the oldest fast that the Christian Church has known in all its generations and the Master referred to him by saying, “But when the bridegroom is lifted from them, then they fast.”

The Apostles fasted, as a start to their service. The Lord himself began his service with fasting, forty days on the mountain. Our teacher, Peter the Apostle, was said to have fasted until “he was hungry and wanted to eat” (Acts 10:10).

In his starvation he saw the sky open and saw a vision of accepting nations. Just as their fast was accompanied by visions and divine guidance, it was also accompanied by the work and solutions of the Holy Spirit. And the book says: “And while they are serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said: Sort me Barnabas and Paul for the work that I have called upon them. Then they fasted and prayed, and put hands on them, and then released them.
